Israel’s Mossad spy agency has said it has prevented three assassinations in Europe by Iranian operatives, in a rare statement on its operatives’ activities abroad.
The Israeli government said its agents working inside Iran had captured and interrogated a member of the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), who admitted to being part of the plan. The alleged hit list included a diplomat at Israel’s consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, an American general in Germany and a French journalist. The names of the targets were not given.
