A Trenton husband and wife alerted police when their shared bank accounts were targeted by an alleged computer hacker, taking thousands out of their accounts.
The couple came to the department on April 28.
The wife told police she received a notice from Chase Bank informing her that their business account was compromised.
According to a police report, she was told that $2,000 was transferred from one account to another, but the money was not yet spent or withdrawn.
The woman told officers she believes her home computer was hacked because browser windows were appearing without her even using the computer.
That same day, she received a phone call from a credit union asking her if she had recently made any large withdrawals.
After telling the banker she had not withdrawn any sizable withdrawals, the caller told her that about $4,000 was withdrawn from her account.
