Fairview Park, Ohio
On May 16 at 3:11 p.m. officers were called to an assault that took place near Chick-Fil-A at Westgate Shopping Center after the call had initially been dispatched to North Olmsted Police. When officers arrived, they found two employees Chick-Fil-A had been involved in a personal dispute which had carried over into their working day. One of the individuals involved, a 24-year-old Cleveland woman, was arrested on a warrant out of Willoughby and taken to their department.
On May 18 at 11:42 a.m. an Ulta Salon Cosmetics manager reported a woman had stolen merchandise the previous day. The same woman had also stolen from the store in March. Video of the incident was obtained. The investigation is ongoing.
Fraud, Lorain Road
On May 18 at 7:32 a.m. a resident reported being defrauded through a telephone scam after someone called her reporting that she had won $2.5 million through “Mega Millions Online.” She was told the money was being held in a bank account for her and she would have to pay varying sums of money several times to cover the taxes. A relative learned of the scam and contacted the police department. The investigation has been forwarded to the FBI.
