Russian government hackers carried out several cyber operations against Ukraine that appeared to support Moscow’s military attacks and Internet propaganda campaigns. This is stated in an internal report from Microsoft.
This is reported by the Reuters news agency.
Between February 23 and April 8, Microsoft reported that it recorded a total of 37 destructive cyber attacks from Russia on the territory of Ukraine. For example, the timeline published by Microsoft showed that March 1 — on the same day when a Russian rocket fired at the Kyiv TV tower — media companies in the capital have suffered devastating hacks and cyber-espionage.
Also in March, Microsoft said Russian hackers hacked into a government network in the central Ukrainian city of Vinnitsa. Two days after this event, Russian missiles destroyed the city’s airport.
