ServiceNow has announced Microsoft security operations integrations to help organizations protect their remote workers against cyberattacks, according to a prepared statement. The company unveiled the integrations at its Knowledge 2021 virtual conference.
The ServiceNow security operations integrations include:
- Microsoft Azure Sentinel: Enables users to share security knowledge and evidence, so they can identify and remediate incidents in their early stages
- Microsoft Threat & Vulnerability Management: Prioritizes security vulnerabilities using asset and business context
- Microsoft Teams: Allows users to set up dedicated Teams channels, so they can share security incident case records with one another
- Microsoft SharePoint: Automates the creation of SharePoint folder structures and provides a central resource for evidence gathered during security incidents
The integrations promote security planning, management and incident response, ServiceNow said. In doing so, they can help security operations teams make smarter decisions.
General availability of the Microsoft Azure Sentinel and Threat & Vulnerability Management integrations is expected in June 2021. Limited availability of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint integrations is expected in June 2021, with general availability planned later in 2021.
The ServiceNow-Microsoft integration effort surfaces at a time when midmarket and enterprise MSPs increasingly leverage ServiceNow for co-managed services. In theory, the next logical MSP move could involve co-managed security services.
ServiceNow Invests in AppOmni, Introduces Perch Integration
The Microsoft security operations integrations come after ServiceNow in April 2021 provided funding to AppOmni, a SaaS security management platform provider. AppOmni is using the funding to accelerate its product development and expand its platform’s capabilities.
Furthermore, ServiceNow in August 2020 gained an integration with Perch Security, a ConnectWise business offers a co-managed threat detection and response platform for MSPs. The integration allows Perch customers to use ServiceNow’s platform to open and manage service tickets.
ServiceNow’s platform allows users to digitize workflows. The platform is used by 80 percent of the Fortune 500, ServiceNow VP and GM of Security Products Lou Fiorello stated.
