notafanboy, 34 minutes agoMmm yeah, but Android 13 is currently in beta so it doesn’t count. Also Samsung was fast … moreI’m writing this to you from a picel 6 pro hahaha, I’m not going back to samsung anymore, the last one I had was the s20 ultra in 2 different versions, the reason why sometimes the patches arrive first is because google releases them at the end of each month Samsung usually releases after that on the 1st of each month and google for its pixels on the 5th if google doesn’t release the software first no one can release patches. And yes, if anroid 13 counts for that you have a pixel for that I have a pixel to have the android versions first of all

chris1998, 2 hours agoIs there a rush to get out security bugs. If there’s no issue why rush Because the Pixel still hasn’t been patched against the Dirty Cow exploit which is going on three months old.

My Galaxy S20+ is still receiving monthly security updates. Somewhere in middle of April I received the April security patch.

I am guessing, somewhere in the middle of May, I will receive this May security patch also.

And we are talking about 2 years old model.

For Android side, Samsung does a good job with software updates. And looking at the numbers of Samsung phones they have in their portfolio (which still get updated), is even more impressive. You can easily find this information entering on their site: https://security.samsungmobile.com/workScope.smsb

Chinese manufacturers do not have this information anywhere on their sites. At least, with Samsung you know what you can expect.

I’m really surprised i get every month security patch for my Galaxy A52s without any bugs, before i used to get every 2-3 months lol (On Galaxy A6+ & A71).

I’m just really surprised how Samsung managed to make such a stable software from a totally unstable one coming from my experience since i was here from One UI 1.0
