Police investigating Rustin student in connection with social media threat – Daily Local | #computerhacking | #hacking


EAST GOSHEN — The Westtown E. Goshen Regional Police Department is investigating a threat involving Rustin High School that was circulated via social media.  Police said there is no threat to safety of students at this time.  The student who made the threat was immediately identified and although the post showed an image of a weapon, the student who made the threat was not in possession of any weapons.

Oxford

Domestic disturbance

On April 29, 2022 the Oxford Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Market Street for a domestic disturbance. The victim stated that the defendant, Aftab Gul, 29, of Oxford, had struck her and knocked her to the ground. The victim did have injuries that were consistent with her statement of the events.  Further investigation determined that the victim had an active Protection From Abuse Order from New York that prohibited Gul from having any contact with her.  GUL was arrested and transported to Chester County Prison to await a preliminary hearing at Oxford District Court and a PFA violation hearing in New York.

Threats

On Feb. 10, 2022 the Oxford Police Department received a complaint from a man that he was being harassed by another man.  After further investigation it was determined that Kane Dennison-Gomez, 26, of Newark Delaware, had been repeatedly sending threatening  text messages to the victim after he had been advised by Oxford Police Department not to have any further contact.  Criminal charges have been filed and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled.

Coatesville

Fleeing and eluding

On Saturday, April 30 at 4:30 p.m., Coatesville Police observed a group of dirt bikes being illegally operated on the roadway in the area of Virginia Avenue and Oak Street. Police activated emergency lights and siren in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop on the group of dirt bikes. The operators of the dirt bikes all failed to yield to the attempted traffic stop. One of the riders, Tyrone Thomas, 20, of Coatesville, was taken into custody as he was unsuccessful in his attempt to elude police. The dirt bike was seized as a result of this incident. He was transported back to the police station where he was processed and held for arraignment.

Public drunkenness

On the above date and time Coatesville police were dispatched to a report of two men in the parking lot to the rear of 339 East Lincoln Hwy causing a disturbance. Police arrived and found Shannon Torres and another male yelling. The male advised he was fine had Torres under control. Torres began to shove the male at that time, Police placed Torres under arrest for Public Drunkenness. Torres was transported  to the Coatesville Police Department were he was held for eight hours until sober. While in the Coatesville holding cell, Torres caused damage and was charged for causing the damage.

Kennett Square

Harassment

Keenan Collazo, 31, of Avondale,  was charged with Terroristic Threats, Harassment and other related charges, following an incident where he allegedly sent threatening text messages and also damaged the victim’s vehicle. The incident occurred on April 29, 2022 at 11:04 p.m., in the 300 Block of East Linden Street, Kennett Square Borough. On April 30, 2022, Officers received an arrest warrant for Keenan Collazo, who was later taken into custody at his residence in Avondale, with the assistance of Southern Chester County Regional Police Department. Charges were filed at District Court.

Threats

A male juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threats, Harassment and other related offenses after he had shown a pocket knife with an open blade to a group of female juveniles who were in the indoor swimming pool. The incident occurred on March 16, 2022 at approximately 1:31 p.m., in the 100 Block of Race Street, Kennett Square Borough. Officers were able to view video surveillance which showed a male juvenile display a closed pocket knife at the window to the indoor pool and a few seconds later he takes the knife out again, unfolds it to display the blade portion against the window towards the group of females.  A juvenile allegation was approved and sent to Chester County Juvenile Probation on April 25, 2022.

Westtown-East Goshen

Warrant

The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police currently holds an active arrest warrant for Stephen Lewis for theft and conspiracy to commit theft and related offenses. Lewis was seen entering the Giant Food Store located in Thornbury Township, Chester County where he and another suspect, Corey Hanna, were seen taking items without making payment. West Chester

Car break-ins

On April 26 at 7:30 a.m., the West Chester Police responded to Shenandoah Lane for a report of a person who attempted to gain access into a vehicles parked in the driveway of two different residences.  Two of the vehicles were locked and no access was gained. A third vehicle was unlocked and the thief entered the vehicle and ransacked the inside.  The owner of the vehicle does not think anything was taken from the vehicle.  The thief was wearing dark clothing and what appears to be a bandana over their face.  The actor was last seen heading towards Shenton Road from Shenandoah Lane.   Anyone with information is requested to contact West Chester Police at 610-696-2700.

Vehicle theft

On April 26 at 7:30 a.m., the West Chester Police responded to 861 Shenton Road for a report of a motor vehicle theft.  The victim reported that the vehicle was last seen parked in the driveway at 11 p.m. on April 25.  The vehicle keys were with the vehicle which was unlocked.  The vehicle is a grey 2017 Toyota Tacoma bearing PA REG YSY1127.

Woman scammed

Police are investigating a computer scam in which a 70-year-old Elverson woman was defrauded out of $2,000 after a hacker had locked her out of her computer, demanding a $1,000 Apple gift card, a $1,000 EBay gift card and a $200 VISA gift card. The victim paid, police said.
