Nutritionist reveals her delicious calorie-cutting coffee McDonald’s frappe hack – and insists it is just as delicious as the original
- Fitness fanatic reveals how to get a McDonald’s frappe with half the calories
- Bec Hardgrave said a regular coffee frappe has almost 400 calories per serve
- She suggests adding ice cream to the iced long black which equals 146 calories
A fitness fanatic has revealed how you can more than halve the calories on your next McDonald’s Frappe order.
Bec Hardgrave, who works as a tax accountant throughout the day and gives advice on fitness and nutrition out of hours, shared the simple hack on TikTok.
Instead of buying a coffee-flavoured frappe, which has almost 400 calories for a regular sized drink and 519 for the larger option, she suggests buying a ice cream cone and iced long black and making your own.
‘It is only 146 calories for the whole drink and super delicious,’ she revealed as she showed how to make it.

‘Such a cool hack, I will be trying it just to make sure it is actually delicious,’ one woman said.
‘I just did this despite the cold and yum, it didn’t disappoint,’ one woman wrote.
And staff at the restaurant were happy to cut out the middle man.
‘You can always ask for ice cream on the top too,’ one woman said.
Some pointed out the hack was actually better in more ways than one.

‘The coffee frappes actually don’t have any coffee in them, just syrup,’ one woman said.
‘The frappes also don’t have milk it is just another syrup, this looks way better,’ said another.
Others weren’t convinced.
‘With all that sugar? How,’ one man demanded.
Reviews were mixed after Bec’s fans tried the hack – some saying they found the new frappe-style drink delicious while others hated it
‘That’s not a frappe though,’ complained one woman.
‘I just tried this and it just felt like watered down coffee, couldn’t taste the ice cream,’ one man complained.
Others joked the hack would only work if the ice cream machine happened to be working at the time.
