1. Don’t buy an iPhone or Apple Watch
Both products are expected to get big upgrades soon. That said, if you’re not interested in the newest technology or biggest screen sizes, the lower-cost iPhone SE’s — which are plenty capable — are a good buy right now, the Journal’s personal tech columnist Joanna Stern writes.
2. Buy AirPods and the non-fancy iPads
AirPods and AirPod Pros may get some minor upgrades, but nothing to stop you from buying one now. Same goes for the iPad, because, as Stern points out, “at this point an iPad is an iPad.” As for iPad Pros, the top-of-the-line machines that are sort of a laptop-tablet hybrid, Stern recommends waiting because Apple might have an even better hybrid up its sleeves.
3. MacBooks are a risky buy
If you need one now for work or school, you are somewhat stuck here. But Apple has said it will move from Intel chips to their own in-house chips later this year. Stern predicts it will bring better performance and battery life, among other things, so it may be worth waiting.
