Mozilla is releasing Firefox 93 for desktop with new features | #firefox | #chrome | #microsoftedge

In addition to Firefox 91.2 ESR and Firefox 78.15 ESR for Windows, MacOS and Linux, Mozilla today released the standard version of Firefox 93 for Windows, MacOS and Linux. In the new version Firefox supports the new AVIF image format based on the modern and unlicensed AV1 video codec. This provides significant bandwidth savings for websites compared to existing image formats. It also supports transparency and other advanced features. Firefox PDF Viewer now supports filling out more forms, including XFA-based forms used by many governments and banks. When available computer memory is low, Firefox now automatically downloads tabs on Windows based on their last access time, memory usage, and other attributes. This will help reduce Firefox crashes when you do not have enough memory. Switching to the Unloaded tab will reload automatically. Firefox now blocks downloads based on insecure connections, and protects against malicious or insecure downloads and more. This update closes seven vulnerabilities in older versions of Firefox. Details about the security holes covered with Firefox 93 can be found here Here. Users who have installed an older version of Firefox will receive an update automatically.
