The three-month plan supports up to 50 Windows, Mac and Android devices

Cybersecurity firm BullGuard has announced that it is providing small businesses with a free three-month security license to provide its workers with secure devices during the coronavirus pandemic.

BullGuard is offering the service to businesses with less than 50 employees through its ‘BullGuard small office security’ plan.

The service is free of charge for three months and aims to keep workers secure while working remotely during the lockdown.

Businesses aren’t required to submit any form of credit card payment information in order to sign up to the service.

The plan supports up to 50 Windows, Mac and Android devices and will cover protection for desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

BullGuard CEO Paul Lipman said: “Small businesses are in a very challenging position right now, making the sudden transition to working from home without the cybersecurity training, technologies or procedures that are commonplace within enterprise companies.

“As a result, many small companies are vulnerable to being compromised by cybercriminals who are exploiting the coronavirus pandemic with predatory instinct.”

The small office security product provides these smaller businesses with endpoint protection and can deal with threats such as phishing emails and malware.

The product is cloud-managed and dedicated specifically for smaller businesses, with remote management from a cloud-based dashboard managing all the devices at the same time.

Security updates can be applied simultaneously to all the devices from this platform, while any lost devices can be remotely locked down to protect any sensitive data.

Lipman added: “Cybersecurity is the last thing many small businesses are thinking about as they grapple with all sorts of issues just to keep operating. They have more than enough to deal with and certainly don’t need to contend with cybercriminals and malware infections.

“We understand their cybersecurity needs in these unprecedented times and want to help them so they can concentrate on the essentials of day-to-day business.”
