I just think it a shame the 7 series couldn’t get this last one update, iOS 16 is not a major step up from 15, it should be able to handle it. Regardless the 7 has had a decent run.

r

useless long update if the features of their newest phone can’t be in their old gen (since iOS 14 if I’m not wrong). Also I saw that on the old gen, the battery only last about few hours.

Long updates doesn’t need on Android, you can even use WhatsApp FB or gaming on Android 5.0 from 2014

With QHD, its autonomy would drop easily 10-15%.

I think battery in my XR is exceptional considering it’s only 3000 mAh and I only charge i to 80% it’s entire life (3+ years). The only time people complained really was for SE models and models prior iPhone X where batteries were really significantly smaller.

Look at its predecessor the Iphone 6.. it’s support ended at ios 12.. by the logic iphone 6s should have stopped at ios 13.. but it went on with 14.. and now 15

It’s the fact that it has received less overall support that it’s immediate predecessors that that people confused. Their doesn’t appear to be any valid reason it is not getting iOS 16, which would bring it in line with the support term the 6S and original SE had.

The perfect iOS update in my opinion was iOS 12. It was better than any iOS 11 version from day one in terms of bugs, performance and battery, it brought useful features like screen time, and it didn’t drop support for any device.

Of course the 7 outlasted the competition by a huge margin. I‘m still a bit bummed that it only got the same amount of software updates as the iPhone 5s, especially since the iPads still go all the way back to A9.

There was another one of some live caption Accessibility feature which only works on iPads with A12 Bionic or iPhones with A13 Bionic.

I don’t get what Apple is doing with the iPhones this year. It‘s true that most will probably upgrade their iPhone more frequently than their iPad but if they got it up and running on those iPad, might as well just port it over to the iPhones for bragging rights in longevity 🤷‍♂️

And that’s with a less battery capacity compared to the Galaxies’ 5KmAh that behaves like 4KmAh only.

Android users are much smarter but will still get baited. Dunno what’s sadder.

Anonymous, 2 hours agothe 7’s probably one of the shortest lived (in terms of software support) modern iphones. hone… moreAre you ok? “Shortest software support”? iPhone 7 is from 2016. It’s 6 years old now. It even exceeds typical Apple’s 5 years of major updates. And even now, it’ll continue to get security updates for 2-3 more years and will be entirely discontinued after 10 years. This is how a typical iPhone support goes. I’d say it’s not short lived but best in industry…

They brag about having the best hardware on their phones have the best hardware on their phones but the software stays like a decade behind in features lol. No 60 hz on iPhone 13 yet and still no AOD haha

RIP iPhone 6S & iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE, the last iPhones with a headphone jack. Also RIP iPod. With that, the headphone jack era of iPhone is sealed eternally away from the future generations.

DMX, 1 hour agoEveryone complaining that the iPhone 7, a phone from 2016, no longer has support but Apple sup… moreTrue that, my xperia Xz2 from 2018 was dumped in 2021 🥲

Using my original iPhone SE yesterday, I’m fine not getting any more support because iOS15 destroyed my SE1’s battery life. Not that iOS14 was great on it but 15 destroyed it. I had to restore everything to new again and battery life is better and some of the glitches went away but not completely.

The best battery life was when it was still on iOS10. But it’s harder to stay on that because you lose so much app compatibility. Updating software is so overrated. I wish my MacBook Air went back to El Capitan and not be on Monterey. Just takes up more space. People whine about wanting more software support. Then turn around and complain how the update ruined their device.
