Homer police renewed an October 2020 alert involving fraudulent text messages that appear to be from the DMV.

These phishing scams have resurfaced in the community over recent weeks.

Below is screenshot from a village resident provided to the police department:



Recipients are directed to update their contact information or other personal data.

The scammers at-large plan to use this in order to commit identity fraud and/or theft.

Never respond to these messages or provide any information about yourself to someone you don’t know.
