A former Hillsborough County Schools Assistant Principal has been found guilty in Rhode Island for giving an unwanted foot rub to a student.
Olayinka Alege was convicted on Friday (4/8/22) of a misdemeanor change of simple assault for the incident that happened almost a year ago.
The incident was caught on video and the video was shown & made public for the first time in court.
At the time of the incident Alege was working as a network superintendent for Providence Public Schools. He previously was the assistant principal at King High School.
The Providence superintendent who hired Alege, Harrison Peters, also worked in the Hillsborough County Public School system. Peters was later terminated as Providence superintendent. It was discovered he knew of similar allegations against Alege from a school district in Florida but failed to inform his superiors or the hiring committee.
