Facebook down? Yes, Facebook is down along with Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus VR.
You are not alone; the social media giant Facebook along with its subsidiaries including Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus VR are down and suffering ongoing service disruption.
The outage seems to have begun at around 5:30 pm UK time after a “5xx Server Error” appeared on Instagram’s website.
Currently, those using Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp on their smartphones are unable to load new posts, while their domains are offline with “This site can’t be reached” or “5xx Server Error.”
Remember, 5xx Server Error indicates that the problem is caused by the server and there is no issue on the user side.
Although the reason for the interruption is unknown Facebook is known for facing technical issues where millions of its users are left with no answers.

However, the fact that all Facebook services are offline, raises the question if it is an ongoing cyber-attack or simply a technical glitch.
According to DownDetecter, a platform that reports on online platforms going through service disrupting, the scale of this outage can be seen affecting users all over the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.
The good news is that Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Oculus VR have acknowledged the issue and urge users to bear with them as the company is working on fixing the problem.
The social media giant has over 2.89 billion monthly active users, its subsidiaries including Instagram have over 1.386 billion, WhatsApp has 2 billion users worldwide. Therefore it is natural for users to look for answers. So stick with us, we will update you as soon as the services are back online.
