Donavan LaBella, shot in face with impact munition during Portland protests, sues federal government | #socialmedia

Donavan LaBella, 26, was hit while demonstrating in July 2020 outside the federal courthouse in downtown Portland during the height of mass racial justice protests after George Floyd’s killing by a Minneapolis police officer.

The man shot in the forehead with an impact munition while demonstrating last year outside the federal courthouse in downtown Portland has sued the U.S. government and 10 unnamed federal officers who were at or near the courthouse the night he was hit.

Donavan LaBella’s lawsuit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Portland, cites excessive force, negligence and emotional distress. The suit does not name the amount of money he is seeking, but a previous notice to the court suggested he would seek millions.
