If there is a loose theme this week then it is around the security world. Changes at a few channel players that operate in that particular technology segment have been a feature of the past week.

Kaspersky

Time for some change at the top of the UK organisation, with Christopher Hurst being given the role of general manager of UK and Ireland at Kaspersky. He will be using his 30-plus years of industry experience to drive channel growth in the region. His CV includes time at Veritas/Symantec and more recently Cloudistics, a private cloud platform backed by Bain Capital Ventures.

The cornerstone of our business strategy in this region is to transform our leading security intelligence into real protection for our clients, to enable them to use technologies in their lives and businesses safely, and to trust them,” said Hurst.

Littlefish

The managed services and security player has made a triple appointment, with Keith Price joining as cyber services director, and Adam Trott and Rowan Troy coming on board as customer service director and senior cyber security consultant respectively.

Price joins from Deliotte, Trott spent many years at Sopra Steria, and Rowan worked at Six Degrees.

“We are very happy to be starting 2021 by welcoming some exceptionally talented and knowledgeable people onto our senior team,” said Steve Robinson, CEO at Littlefish.

Iomart

Cloud service provider iomart has turned to former EY staffer Sharon Mars Leach to come on board as group marketing director. Her brief will be to accelerate the firms branding.

Her arrival marks the first new addition to iomart’s management team since Reece Donovan took over as CEO in October last year.

“We are delighted to welcome Sharon to the iomart management team. She has a wealth of strategic experience gained from advising global companies, and I look forward to working with her as we continue to drive our business forward,” said Donovan.

Wallix

The cyber security player has given Kristine Kirchner an opportunity to make her mark as vice-president of channel in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Wallix.

She will be given a brief to make sure the business partner programme keeps delivering, and to increase growth across key verticals, including industry, healthcare and financial services, particularly through partners specialising in operational technology (OT) and managed security service providers (MSSPs).

“Our business partner programme has the ambition to strengthen itself locally, to be as close as possible to the needs of each market, while relying on a strong global development strategy. My role will be to ensure this coordination at the global level to succeed in transposing local success models to the international level, with objectives by sector from now on,” she said.

Bamboo Systems

The server specialist has turned to Andy Hill to become its vice-president of sales and pre-sales, who will have a brief to expand the firm’s global partner ecosystem. He has more than two decades of experience and was most recently vice-president of sales for EMEA at Komprise. He also has spells at Nexsan, Sungard Availability Services, and Veritas on the CV.

“Bamboo’s arm-based server architecture is perfectly positioned to act as a catalyst for change in 2021, delivering significant business and environmental benefits,” said Hill.

Medallia

Shankar Balakrishnan has joined the experience management player as area vice-president of UK&I and MEA. He was one of the earliest members of the firm’s EMEA team, and will now be given more responsibility to drive growth.
