So far, police have arrested four people in connection with the case, reports our local correspondent.

A Cumilla court on October 23 put them on a seven-day remand in the case.

At the end of the first day’s remand, a team of police yesterday recovered the mace of Hanuman — which went missing from a Cumilla puja mandap — around 11:30pm from Darogabari Mazar mosque in the district.

Iqbal Hossain, the man arrested for placing the Holy Quran at the puja mandap, accompanied them to locate the mace.

Earlier, the case filed under the Digital Security Act was also transferred to CID. Mohammad Fayez testified under section 164 in the case.
